How to REDUCE Dental Care Costs!! 4 Rules that S-T-R-E-T-C-H your dental dollar RULE #1: IF YOU HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE, USE IT! Insurance companies bank on the fact that a certain percentage of their clients wont use their insurance each year. Wouldnt it feel good to prove them wrong!! And at the same time you would be using your valuable benefits. For some of you, it could be worth up to $3,000 per year!! (Talk about stretching your dollar!) Our office takes any quality dental insurance that allows you to choose your own dentist. Remember that even though your insurance may give you a list of "preferred dentists", it may still pay fairly well for any quality dentist you choose. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will look up your insurance on our computer. RULE #2: PRACTICE DENTAL PREVENTION! Every once in a while I see this headline in the media; "Cure for Tooth Decay Found!" These articles should be entitled"Effortless Cure for Tooth Decay Found" because a cure for tooth decay was actually found years ago! Unfortunately these articles on effortless cures always prove false - but the good news is that the cure I can tell you about is for real.Part of providing quality treatment is to teach prevention. Preventative dental measures truly can cure dental disease. They include: proper brushing and flossing, diet control, use of fluoride, and regular cleanings and check-ups. If parents just gave their children dietary flouride from birth to 12 years old, it would reduce decay by 30 -40 %! So you can see that if you practice these measures, dental disease can almost be totally eliminated! If you would like to learn more about prevention, just phone our office. We would be happy to mail you information (with no obligation) about these preventive measures.RULE #3: THERE ARE ALWAYS TREATMENT ALTERNATIVES! We always try to give treatment choices. For many folks, the reason that they havent come in for dental treatment is they think they cant afford it. We therefore provide treatment alternatives that reduce the cost considerably but without compromising quality. That way, we can find a plan that will get you on the road to dental health. A Chinese proverb wisely states, "A journey of 1000 miles begins with just one small step." The key is to start the journey toward dental health and to take that first small step. Later on when the "financial battle" is being won, more permanent, quality treatment can be provided.RULE #4: GET QUALITY TREATMENT AND GET IT BEFORE IT HURTS! Remember that dental care is a custom service. It is only as good as the person performing it. The mouth is a very harsh environment and only quality dental work can survive in it. Anything less ends up having to be redone for added cost and with additional discomfort. Dental disease does not hurt until the final stages. That means that small and medium size cavities that are comfortable and relatively inexpensive to fill dont hurt! When teeth like this do hurt, it usually means at least a crown and maybe even a root canal! The same principle holds true for gum disease, tooth replacement, dentures, Waiting until it hurts not only hurts your mouth, it hurts your pocketbook! |
