Dr. Wilson Speaks on Gum Disease Dr. Wilson was invited to speak on three occasions about gum disease and a variety of other subjects including oral cancer and Aids. He had the opportunity of giving a 3 hour continuing education course to the Rio Hondo Dental Assistants Assc. at Cerritos College. Dr. Wilson discussed recent advances in Periodontal (gum) disease and he presented material on Oral Cancer-it’s significance and detection. Jean Curry, a patient of Dr. Wilson’s, invited him to be a guest on her "Reach Out" TV interview show. The subject was originally to have been gum disease but, at the last minute, AIDS was added because of the controversial case in Florida that has gained national attention. In addition, Dr. Wilson spoke to the senior citizen’s group at the Beth Shalom Temple in Whittier. His subject was "Dental Health in the Later Years". Because gum disease is a major problem in the later years, the same theme seemed to carry through this presentation too!
